A Missouri farmer says he improves his production through competing in
the Missouri Soybean Yield Contest. Brian Steinhoff, who farms in St. Charles
County near St. Louis, tells Brownfield he learns through his own practices and
the practices of other contestants.
“I think it’s a place to benchmark yourself against other growers in the state
of Missouri and the United States,” Steinhoff told Brownfield Ag News. “I think
that it helps us learn about other areas of our farm that we can improve.”
Steinhoff’s yield of 92.53 bushels to the acre topped the non-irrigated category
in the contest.
