19-year-old, horse killed after Amish buggy demolished by semi-truck in crash in Wisconsin

A 19-year-old was killed, while her brother was seriously injured in a buggy crash early Monday morning in Lafayette County, Wisconsin.

The crash happened just after 3 a.m. on Highway 11, about 10 miles north of Gratiot.

According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, the buggy was being pulled by a single horse when it was hit from behind by a semi-truck.

The impact of the crash killed 19-year-old Fannie King and the horse. Her 30-year-old brother, Samuel King, was seriously injured and was airlifted to a hospital in Madison.

The driver of the semi-truck was not hurt.

The sheriff’s office said the buggy was “demolished” and the semi had moderate damage.
