A 19-year-old woman was killed in a golf cart crash on a highway in northeast South Dakota on Wednesday night.
The crash happened at 9:17 p.m. on S.D. Highway 127 near New Effington. A Harley Davidson golf cart was driving westbound on the highway when it crossed the center line and collided with a 2010 Ford F-150 pickup truck that was driving eastbound.
The woman, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 70-year-old male driver of the pickup truck and his 69-year-old female passenger, both of whom were wearing seatbelts, were not injured.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. The names of those involved have not been released pending notification of family members.
