A three-vehicle crash on Iowa Highway 127 near Loess Hills Trail on Sunday night claimed the lives of three people and injured three others.
The Iowa State Patrol said that 73-year-old Ronald Keith Meeker, of Woodbine, was driving a truck around a curve when the truck rolled. An oncoming motorcycle hit the truck, and the driver and passenger of the motorcycle, 53-year-old Steven Starkey and 53-year-old Julie Starkey, both of Council Bluffs, were killed.
A third motorcycle rider, who has not been identified, was able to avoid the truck by dumping their bike. That rider and two other people who were injured in the crash were taken to hospitals, but their conditions are not known.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
