A 31-year-old man was arrested on Sunday morning after he was caught attempting to lure children into his van with candy.
Skylar Coleman of Sioux Falls was first reported by a group of children who were playing near Mercato’s on Saturday afternoon. The children said that Coleman had offered them candy if they would get into his van, but they refused and ran away.
Another group of children reported a similar incident later that day. In both cases, Coleman fled the scene before police arrived.
On Sunday morning, police found Coleman in his apartment and arrested him. He was charged with attempted enticement of a child for illegal purposes and a parole violation. Coleman has a prior record of sex crimes.
