6-Year-Old Boy Shot in Rapid City, Suspect Still at Large

A 6-year-old boy was shot in the leg on May 26 in the Star Village neighborhood of Rapid City. The boy was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The Rapid City Police Department (RCPD) is still searching for Lyle Blue Legs III, who they believe is responsible for the shooting. Blue Legs is described as a Native American male, 5’10” tall, with black hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo of a star on his left hand.

The RCPD is asking for the public’s help in locating Blue Legs. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the RCPD at 605-394-4131. A reward is being offered for information leading to Blue Legs’ arrest.
