Altercation at Aberdeen Central High School Results in SRO Injury

On Monday, portions of Aberdeen Central High School were placed on lockdown following a fight between three students that resulted in an injury to a School Resource Officer (SRO) from the Aberdeen Police Department.

The altercation occurred in the school office, and as the SRO attempted to gain control, he was injured but is expected to recover fully. One student was detained, and charges are pending. No weapons were involved, and regular school functions continued as normal.

Both the school principal, Jason Uttermark, and the Aberdeen Police Department emphasized that student and staff safety is their top priority.

The police arrested one juvenile student, who is facing several charges, including Simple Assault, Obstructing Law Enforcement, Resisting Arrest, and Disruption of School.
