Apple Tree Children’s Center West in Sioux Falls, initially slated for closure along with three other locations, will now continue its operations under new ownership.
Former executive director Pete Nelson has taken on the business’s financial responsibility, with the official transfer set for January 15, 2024.
The current staff, director, and families served will be retained, and efforts will be made to assist displaced families from the other centers.
Director Amy Hauff expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue serving the community and mentioned plans to hire staff from the other centers, potentially increasing the center’s capacity.
