On Saturday, a 55-year-old man, Lemuel Renard Bell, was arrested by the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office in Sioux Falls.
He allegedly attempted to steal a vehicle, brandishing a suspected weapon, and assaulting the driver at the intersection of 18th Street and Blaine Avenue.
The victim successfully resisted, drove to safety, and reported the incident.
Bell faces charges of robbery, aggravated assault, kidnapping, narcotics, and local warrants.
The victim was unharmed, and authorities assure there is no public danger. The investigation is ongoing.
