Sioux Falls police responded to a bank robbery on Friday morning at U.S. Bank on 41st Street where the suspect, later identified as 57-year-old Melvin Gatlin, displayed a note demanding money but did not show a weapon.
After receiving cash, Gatlin left the bank. Surveillance tracked him to an apartment building and then to Richfield, Minnesota, where he was arrested.
Clothing matching the robbery and cash were recovered. Gatlin was charged with First Degree Robbery and Grand Theft, with a $100,000 cash bond.
