Authorities Investigate Stolen Amazon Shipment Worth $220,000 Found in South Dakota

Authorities in South Dakota are investigating how a semi-truck and trailer loaded with Amazon packages, valued at $220,000, ended up near Sioux Falls instead of its intended route from Las Vegas to Waco, Texas.

The discovery was made when a Minnehaha County deputy pulled over a truck at a gas station in Baltic on June 24, leading to the arrest of Neil Erickson, who had rented storage units in the area.

One of the units contained thousands of unopened Amazon packages.

Erickson has been charged with grand theft, and more arrests are anticipated as the investigation continues.
