Biden-Harris Administration Allocates $426,000 to Reduce Lead in South Dakota Schools and Child Care Facilities

The Biden-Harris Administration has revealed plans to provide South Dakota with more than $426,000 to address lead contamination in schools and child care facilities.

The funding is derived from the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act, and it comes as part of President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which broadened the eligibility of the WIIN Act’s funding to encompass lead remediation in drinking water for children.

The allocated funds will also be utilized for water testing and compliance monitoring measures.
