The Rapid City Police Department is investigating after a body was found in a drainage tunnel near East Boulevard and Omaha Street on Sunday, May 21.
Officers were dispatched to the scene at 11:30 a.m. after receiving a report of a deceased individual. Upon arrival, they found the body of an adult male behind a gated water runoff tunnel.
The body did not show any immediate signs of obvious trauma, but an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. Police are working to identify the individual and the investigation is ongoing.
