The Brookings County Sheriff’s Department is conducting an investigation into the theft of wiring and equipment damage at a gravel pit located west of White, S.D.
The incident occurred between September 2nd and a subsequent Saturday, with mining equipment suffering damage as large diameter wires used to power it were cut and stolen.
The total extent of the damage is still under assessment.
