The Chamberlain school board is undertaking an infrastructure upgrade by rebuilding its K-5 building, which was constructed in the 1950s and has been deemed outdated.
With funding approved through a recent initiative, the project looks to create a modern and functional learning environment.
Superintendent Justin Zajic shared that despite facing delays due to weather, the project is progressing well, with new classrooms, breakout spaces, and a spacious gymnasium with seating for 1,600 spectators.
The school district also hopes to leverage its central location to attract sporting events and tournaments, fostering community engagement.
The goal is to have students occupy the revamped facility by the 2024-25 school year.
