Chislic Festival Celebrates South Dakota’s Official Snack Food in Freeman

The fifth annual South Dakota Chislic Festival is set to take place on July 29 in Freeman, attracting thousands of people eager to sample the best chislic the state has to offer.

Organized by Andrea Baer, President of the Chislic Festival, the event brings together people from across South Dakota to celebrate their culturally and historically unique state snack food.

Alongside the delicious chislic offerings, the festival will feature various food vendors and engaging activities such as bingo, a smash room, and a bean bag tournament.

Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the history of chislic at the nearby Heritage Hall Museum, which will be providing extended hours and “come-and-go” bracelets to ensure a comfortable experience for all attendees.
