Completion of Navigator CO2’s Application Case Brings Anticipation for PUC Decision

The main case for Navigator CO2’s application has concluded after weeks of testimonies and counter-witnesses.

As the decision deadline approaches within a few weeks, interested parties await the verdict from the Public Utilities Commission (PUC).

The Commissioners now have the task of reviewing extensive evidence and testimonies spanning almost three weeks of hearings.

Navigator’s Vice President of Government and Public Affairs, Elizabeth Burns-Thompson, expressed satisfaction with the comprehensive hearing, which allowed them to present substantial evidence to meet the PUC’s rules and regulations.

Their goal is to gain approval for building a pipeline through eastern South Dakota.

Brian Jorde, legal counsel for landowners, expressed surprise at the lack of evidence supporting the claimed benefits of the pipeline, while comparing Navigator’s case favorably to Summit Carbon Solutions’ application denial in North Dakota.

The PUC commissioners are scheduled to reconvene on August 24th-25th for the final stages of the hearing process.
