Concerns Raised Over Missing Information in Navigator Heartland Greenway Pipeline Application

A staff member for the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission (PUC) has expressed concerns about missing information related to occupied buildings near the proposed Navigator Heartland Greenway pipeline route in South Dakota.

The $3.2 billion project is set to run through several counties, connecting ethanol plants and a renewable fuels facility.

PUC Utility Analyst Jon Thurber highlighted issues with Navigator’s permit application on Saturday, including incomplete survey information and vague details about potential route modifications.

The commission raised questions about affected residences within buffer zones and requested additional data on emergency response plans.

Concerns over future city growth and the impact on communities have also been brought up during the ongoing testimony.
