Crow Creek Sioux Tribe Becomes Seventh to Ban Noem from Reservation

The Crow Creek Sioux Tribe joined six other tribes in South Dakota this week by voting to ban Governor Kristi Noem from their reservation.

President Peter Lengkeek expressed frustration over the governor’s recent offer of training and collaboration with tribal law enforcement, requesting that she extend an agreement with the South Dakota Highway Patrol to work with them on an as-needed basis.

Despite having an arrangement with the Highway Patrol for the annual pow-wow, the tribe has yet to receive a response from Governor Noem’s office.

Lengkeek emphasized that there is no cartel on their reservation, responding to concerns raised by the governor’s office.
