Law enforcement responded to a report of a shooting on Sunday morning in rural Davison County.
The suspect reportedly fired two shots at a family member inside their residence and then fled.
Upon arrival of law enforcement it was learned the suspect had returned to the residence.
While searching the residence for the suspect, the Deputy heard a sound outside.
The suspect was found in the back yard with a self inflicted gunshot wound, which was fatal.
The Davison County Sheriff’s Office, Mitchell Police Department, Hanson County Sheriff’s Office, SD Highway Patrol, and Mitchell Ambulance responded to the scene.
