Deadly Western South Dakota Motorcycle Crash Claims 21-year-old

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash in Lawrence County.

The incident involved a 2019 Indian motorcycle traveling north on US 385 near Lead, S.D.

The 21-year-old motorcycle driver, who was speeding, failed to negotiate a curve and was thrown from the motorcycle. He slid underneath a pickup traveling in the opposite direction.

Despite wearing a helmet, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries.

The 63-year-old pickup driver was unharmed.

The names of those involved have not been disclosed.
