FAA Investigates Plane Crash at Watertown Regional Airport

The FAA is investigating a plane crash at Watertown Regional Airport involving a Piper aircraft with two people on board: an aviation student and a flight instructor from Lake Area Technical College.

The crash, which occurred during touch and go landings practice on Sunday afternoon, resulted in a mechanical failure. Fortunately, there were no injuries, and the instructor successfully landed the plane in an airfield space, though it hit a fence near the airport’s entrance.

Authorities are investigating the incident, which also caused a small fuel spill.
