A deadly collision occurred on Tuesday night near Wagner, South Dakota, involving a car and a semi-truck.
The collision happened at the intersection of Highway 46 and Highway 50 at 9:34 p.m.
A 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan traveling south on Highway 50 stopped at the intersection’s stop sign, while a 2019 Peterbilt semi tractor trailer traveling west on SD 46 did not have a stop sign.
The Grand Caravan pulled out in front of the semi, resulting in a collision that sent the car into the north ditch.
The 68-year-old male driver of the Grand Caravan, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and later died due to injuries at Wagner Hospital.
The 47-year-old male driver of the semi, who was wearing a seatbelt, remained uninjured.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation, and the identities of those involved are being withheld until their families are informed.
