In the early hours of Saturday, May 31, a single-vehicle crash near Humboldt, South Dakota, resulted in the death of the male driver and serious injuries to a female passenger.
The vehicle, traveling southbound on 457th Avenue (Highway 19), failed to stop at a T-intersection with Highway 38 and collided with a grove of trees.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities, including the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office and South Dakota Highway Patrol, are investigating the cause of the crash.
Names have not been released pending family notification.
