A deadly crash occurred 15 miles south of Sisseton, on Whipple Road, involving a 37-year-old woman driving a John Deere Gator utility vehicle late Saturday afternoon.
The woman signaled to make a left turn when a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox behind her attempted to pass.
The Equinox collided with the Gator’s driver side during the turn.
The Gator driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries the following day.
The Equinox driver, a 31-year-old male, sustained minor injuries and was also not wearing a seatbelt.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation, and identities are being withheld until family members are informed.
