A fatal two-vehicle crash is under investigation by the South Dakota Highway Patrol in Bon Homme County.
The incident occurred Friday afternoon around 1:30 pm and involved a 2017 Kenworth T8000 semi-tractor trailer traveling south on SD Highway 37 and a westbound 2007 Nissan Xterra on SD Highway 46 that failed to stop at a stop sign.
The semi struck the Xterra, resulting in fatal injuries to the Xterra’s 43-year-old male driver, who was wearing a seatbelt.
The Kenworth’s 63-year-old male driver, also seatbelted, suffered minor injuries.
Both vehicles came to rest in a ditch.
Preliminary information has been released, with names of individuals withheld pending family notification.
