Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Western South Dakota Investigated by Highway Patrol

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into a single-vehicle crash that occurred about 23 miles northwest of Midland, South Dakota.

The incident involved a 2005 Harley-Davidson traveling west on SD Highway 34, during which the 64-year-old male driver lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a ditch, resulting in the driver being separated from the vehicle.

The driver was pronounced dead after being taken to the Pierre Hospital, and it was reported that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver’s identity has not been released, awaiting notification of the family, and further details are still being investigated.
