Tragedy struck on Wednesday when a 68-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a crash on Interstate 90, three miles west of Rapid City.
The identity of the rider has not been disclosed, awaiting notification of his family.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the motorcyclist was traveling westbound at mile marker 54 when he veered out of his lane, entered the median, and subsequently crashed.
Despite being taken to Monument Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
