29-year-old Chris Phoumy, a former childcare worker, was sentenced to a total of 50 years in prison for charges related to child pornography and sexual contact with children under his care.
Phoumy faced nine counts of sexual contact with children while working in Minnehaha and Lincoln counties, along with one count of possession of child pornography.
He was initially sentenced to 25 years in prison at the Lincoln County Courthouse in Canton after pleading guilty in March 2023. The sentence was for his crimes in both counties.
Phoumy had been held on a $100,000 cash bond.
