Cassandra Jelsma, a former prison employee in Springfield, S.D., has been charged with engaging in sexual acts with an inmate serving time for drug and DUI charges in Minnehaha County.
The alleged incidents occurred between November and June.
Jelsma, identified as a Communications maintenance tech at the prison, was granted bond set at $4,000 cash and is currently out on bond.
Her initial court appearance is scheduled for the end of the month.
