Authorities in Brookings are currently conducting an investigation following a deadly, early morning trailer fire.
At approximately 5:15 a.m. on Saturday, emergency responders from the Brookings Fire Department and Police Department arrived at a trailer located within the 500 block of 12th Street South.
As they battled the blaze, a deceased person was discovered within the residence.
For the safety and integrity of the ongoing investigation, the Brookings Police Department has urged the public to refrain from entering the vicinity of the incident.
