Mitchell Fire Chief Marius Laursen will be moving on from the Mitchell Fire Department at the end of the week.
He’s going to work at Avera Queen of Peace in their emergency management area.
Laursen started in July 1997, as a paramedic-firefighter with the Davison County Ambulance, which the city of Mitchell eventually took over, and worked his way up to Fire Chief a couple of years ago.
Laursen’s last day is Friday, March 24.
