The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man wanted for aggravated assault in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred last weekend.
The suspect, 30-year-old Kevin Dewayne Bass, is believed to be armed and dangerous. He is described as a black male, 6 feet tall, and 200 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
The shooting occurred around 3 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, on 14th Street. The victim, who has not been identified, was walking along the street when a car drove by and someone inside fired several shots. The victim was struck twice, but his injuries were not life-threatening.
According to court documents, the shooting stemmed from a fight that occurred at a nearby restaurant. Surveillance video from the restaurant helped investigators identify Bass as the alleged shooter.
Anyone with information on Bass’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office at (605) 367-4268. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
