South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley announced a death investigation in Mitchell on Thursday afternoon at City Hall.
The case started on Monday, March 11th at 10:54 pm at the Mitchell I-90 truck stop. When Mitchell Police arrived at the scene, they found a partially dismembered female.
The victim was identified as 57-year-old Melody Gooch from Detroit, Michigan.
The suspect, Anthony Harris, has been put into custody in Washington state.
A complaint has been filed against Harris for Second Degree Murder.
Harris’s bond has been set at $250,000.
