A new study by the Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce reveals a rising trend of South Dakota State University (SDSU) graduates choosing to remain in Brookings post-graduation.
In 2022, the Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce began investigating how many SDSU graduates were planning to start their careers in Brookings. Initial findings showed only about 7% of students intended to stay, a number deemed extremely low.
However, this year, over 14% of SDSU graduates planned to remain in Brookings. Initiatives like a work-ready boot camp, which brings business professionals to campus, have been instrumental.
