In Sioux Falls, a motorcyclist was seriously injured while trying to avoid a woman who unexpectedly entered the street.
The incident occurred on Phillips Ave. between 9th and 10th Streets, with a call to the Sioux Falls Police Department at 12:23 a.m.
Three motorcyclists were traveling southbound on Phillips when the woman suddenly appeared in their path.
One motorcyclist swerved to avoid her and crashed, sustaining serious head injuries. He was unconscious when emergency responders arrived and was transported to a local hospital.
Another motorcyclist also took evasive action but suffered minor injuries, while the third motorcyclist remained unharmed.
Witnesses provided accounts of the incident, and the woman was cited for jaywalking.
