A collaborative effort among law enforcement agencies in northeastern South Dakota has led to the formation of the Northeast South Dakota Multi-Jurisdictional Criminal Enforcement Team (NESD MJCET).
Comprising members from various sheriff’s offices and police departments, the team conducted its inaugural operation in Roberts County, resulting in the arrest of seven individuals within a three-hour span.
The operation targeted drug and criminal activities, uncovering instances of marijuana and fentanyl use and possession.
Notably, three fugitives, including one on the run since 2021, were apprehended, and two individuals were arrested for DUI.
The successful operation also involved the issuance of traffic-related citations and warnings.
