Off-Duty Officer Heroically Rescues Victims in Fiery Two-Vehicle Crash Near Larchwood, Iowa

Six people were injured in a fiery two-vehicle crash near Larchwood, Iowa.

The accident occurred when Lance Haugen of Glendive, MT, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a Chevy Traverse driven by Marvin Winkle of George, IA.

The collision caused the Chevy to catch fire, while the Ford rolled over.

Off-duty Lennox Police Officer Ismael Small arrived moments after the crash, heroically rescuing five people from the burning Chevy and overturned Ford.

One person was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital, while five others were taken by ambulance.

The crash is under investigation.
