One Dead, One Injured in Single-Engine Airplane Crash near Pierre

A deadly airplane crash occurred northwest of Pierre on Monday, resulting in one fatality and one injury.

The single-engine aircraft was reported to have crashed near the Missouri River, prompting authorities to respond and conduct a search.

The plane was located approximately one mile north of Pierre and half a mile west of Highway 1804.

The pilot is in stable condition, while the passenger lost their life.

The identities of those involved are being withheld until their families are notified.

Both individuals were visitors to the Pierre area and not from South Dakota.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is currently underway.
