One Fatality in NW Iowa House Fire

A house fire in Milford, Iowa resulted in the discovery of a deceased woman by firefighters.

The incident occurred on Thursday morning at 7:23 am at 1007 L Ave., after a neighbor reported seeing smoke coming from the home.

The Milford Fire Department requested assistance from the Arnolds Park/Okoboji Fire Department upon their arrival.

Smoke was observed coming from multiple areas of the house, and the fire was found to be located in the living room.

As responders worked to extinguish the fire, they discovered the body of a deceased woman in the living room.

The Iowa State Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.

Multiple local agencies, including the Milford Police Department, Milford Utilities, Black Hills Energy, Dickinson County Emergency Management, and the Dickinson County Communications Center, provided assistance to the Milford Fire Department during the incident.
