A two-vehicle crash near Letcher, South Dakota, on Wednesday night left one person dead and another with serious injuries.
The crash happened at approximately 9:00 p.m. on 241st Street near 406th Avenue.
According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, a 2019 Hyundai Sonata was driving westbound on 241st Street when it crossed the center line and collided with a 2005 Peterbilt semi-truck pulling a flatbed trailer.
The driver of the Hyundai Sonata, a 46-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the semi-truck, a 19-year-old man, was taken to a nearby hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
The names of those involved have not been released.
