Pierre Women Plead Not Guilty in South Dakota Department of Revenue Fraud Case

Two women from Pierre, Lynne Hunsley, 64, and Danielle Degenstein, 51, have entered not-guilty pleas to charges related to a fraud investigation at the South Dakota Department of Revenue.

During their initial court appearance before Sixth Circuit Judge Christina Klinger, both requested arraignment.

Degenstein faces a single charge of misprision of a felony, with a non-evidentiary hearing set for December 30. Hunsley, facing seven charges of fraud, requested permission through her attorney, Ellery Greg, to travel to Nebraska for family visits.

Assistant Attorney General Nolan Welker approved the request, with the stipulation that travel be limited to South Dakota and Nebraska and that the Attorney General’s office be informed of her travel plans.

Hunsley’s next hearing is scheduled for late January.
