30-year-old Sequoyah Mark West Junior from Pine Ridge has pleaded guilty in federal court to the voluntary manslaughter of Martin “Mark” White Hawk in April 2023.
The incident occurred during an argument between West and White Hawk in Manderson on the Pine Ridge Reservation, resulting in West attacking and strangling White Hawk, causing his death sometime during the night of April 19 and the morning of April 20.
