MITCHELL, S.D. – Mitchell POET Bioprocessing has awarded a total of $5,000 in grants to three local organizations through POET’s 2023 Community Impact Grant Program.
The Mount Vernon Fire Department received $2,000 to purchase a stove and refrigerator for the kitchen of the new fire station.
The Artesian Volunteer Fire Department was awarded $2,000 to purchase wildland fire suit gear consisting of a wildfire helmet, goggles, wildland jacket, pants, gloves, Thorolo work boots, and socks.
The Bridgewater/Emery FFA received $1,000 to expand its honeybee project by adding an additional four hives and several beekeeper suits to the Honey Production Supervised Agriculture Experience Program.
“We are proud to contribute to the invaluable work of our local fire departments and to support our local FFA through our Community Impact Grant Program,” said Becky Pitz, General Manager of POET Bioprocessing – Mitchell.
“The purpose of the grants is to give back to the communities we call home, and we’re proud to be able to partner with these organizations that have life-changing missions.”
