On Friday evening, shots were fired inside the Empire Mall in Sioux Falls, prompting a significant police response.
Sioux Falls Police Chief Jon Thum confirmed that at least three shell casings were found near the Zumiez store, but no injuries were reported.
Authorities believe the suspect is a juvenile male between the ages of 13 and 17. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m., leading to a lockdown and evacuation of the mall.
Law enforcement conducted a thorough search and is reviewing security footage as part of the ongoing investigation.
