Sinai Man Faces Rape and Delinquency Charges Following Traffic Stop

A phone tip about erratic driving led to the arrest of 44-year-old Justin Paulson of Sinai, South Dakota, for charges including rape and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

On May 17, Brookings Police stopped a 1995 Jeep Cherokee near 20th Street South and Main Avenue South, driven by Paulson with two underage female passengers.

The girls reported that Paulson paid a 14-year-old $300 for sex and provided them with alcohol. Paulson, who denies the allegations, faces charges of felony rape, sexual contact with a child under 16, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

He remains in custody at the Brookings County Detention Center.
