Timothy Thorburn, a 43-year-old Sioux Falls man and U.S. Air Force veteran, has been charged with three counts of possession of child pornography, with court records indicating the possession of “up to 17,000 images” depicting a “12-14-year-old” child.
Thorburn is currently held on a $25,000 cash bond, subject to a no-contact order with individuals under 18.
If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine, along with mandatory registration as a sex offender.
Thorburn’s next court appearance is scheduled for November 22 at the Minnehaha County Courthouse.
