Sioux Falls Man Arrested for Strangling Convenience Store Clerk, Assaulting Another

Peyton Lane Leclaire, a 19-year-old man from Sioux Falls, was arrested for second-degree robbery after strangling a convenience store clerk and hitting another with a bottle.

The incident occurred around 4 a.m. at a convenience store on the 2500 block of West Russell Street.

Leclaire, who had previously shoplifted from the store, returned and attempted to steal multiple bottles of alcohol. When confronted by a clerk, he began strangling her.

Another clerk intervened and was struck by Leclaire with a bottle.

Leclaire fled the scene but was apprehended nearby.
