Andrew Dejong, a 25-year-old from Sioux Falls, was arrested in Pierre after allegedly leaving a gas station without paying.
Pierre police responded to a theft report on West Sioux Avenue around 8 p.m. Saturday, where Dejong had reportedly fueled his vehicle and left without payment. Police soon located him near Wells and Harrison Avenues, discovering he had a suspended license and an active warrant from Minnehaha County.
Dejong showed signs of alcohol consumption but refused a field sobriety test. He was taken to Hughes County Jail on charges including third-offense DUI, driving on a suspended license, and petty theft.
