Sioux Falls Man Charged for Bringing Handgun into Local High School Fundraiser

On Saturday, Sioux Falls Police requested public help to find an 18-year-old suspect, Phillip Linderman, who was seen carrying a handgun into Lincoln High School during a pancake fundraiser.

Students outside the event noticed a man with a handgun in his lap as he drove by. Linderman later entered the school, participated in the fundraiser, and left without brandishing the weapon or using it to threaten anyone.

Upon further investigation, police determined he had the handgun in his waistband while inside. The firearm was later found to have been lent to him by a friend.

Linderman was located and charged with possessing a weapon on school grounds following a social media post by police.
